#5 Crash

Little Gem feels tired after packed day. She even asks if she has to dress up in sport apparel if we just go for a short walk. Easily persuaded to do so we head to the river. As she starts with a decisive walking tempo, I poke her, starting the usual slow jog. She happily joins and will do so until back to the car. Well almost. After crossing the bridge over the river, we agree that I turn left to extend my own loop before catching her. No time to speed up, 3 strides after leaving her I crash on the gravel. Like the usual business for me, but that’s a first on a run with her! Though we took different turns, she heard me crashing and was quick at my side checking on me. Cleaned that up at the river, we then happily went on with our initial plan.

Today, it’s an afternoon loop. We leave the car close to the train station and follow the Sense upstream. I feel headachish all day. Am not promising anything. We start walking and soon he pokes me to start running. My body naturally falls into the japanese pace, to my own surprise, and I keep up till the first bridge.

Crossing it, I suggest he does an extra loop and he agrees to it. He turns to run further upstream, while I turn my head to the right and set out downstream. Three second later I hear a noise of the sound of crunching pebbles and slipping shoes. I turn around and see my Love down in the ditch. Bleeding. Seriously? Can’t beleave my sight! We go wash the wounds by the river and he wants to continue with his run. Business as usual, he says. A first (still happens!), accident during Junathon. I continue on my own and indeed get lost trying to find the car. Pretty convinced running in the wrong direction, after last bridge crossing to get to the car. I think, I’d be capable to get lost between the kitchen and the living room.
