Running brings people together in a way that very few things do

This comes from an email from the crew behind Like the Wind that magazine I’ve subscribed years ago. Our family running brings the two of us together in a unique way. Today, Little Gem is the usual bubbly and smiling despite the early hour. As we pass a snail crossing the street enjoying his own kind early jog, I can’t help but think to that day when she stopped her jog to move a boy like this one. Hoping to spare his life from a brutal encounter on that path.

I call myself lucky to be brought together to this loving soul, to run, to cook, to gossip, to discuss, to study, to brainstorm, to savour, to live!

Out and about early morning, trash tour today. Mouky is not so begeischteret. At first. We drop the trash down the road, then downhill jog (easy) and a loop around part of the village (flat). I’m holding up, till we have to climb uphill again. But, am in much better shape than yesterday and manage. It’s also the first time out with my new smart watch. I think, the watch is quite generous with measuring the amount I’ve run and the amount of sleep I apparently enjoyed. Sleep efficiency ‘excellent’ my device reports, though quite many bouts of stress during the night measured too. I’ll keep an eye on it.
