Junathon comes to an end

After work, we head to the same spot as yesterday—yearning for a dip. This heatwave has a tight grip on Europe! Same spot, different impressions. The sky has built up some tower-like clouds. They didn’t harm us, but brought hail and torrential rain elsewhere.

The héron we observe in the same spot as yesterday. The fish, for their own sake, are not jumping! As we sit in the refreshing riverbed, we watch the fisherman trying his luck. But the fish seem too clever today.

Slipping back into our gear, we make our way home—happy to have a Lift pulling me uphill and feeling grateful for this month. Mostly for those precious moments filled with meaningful exchanges. And as a side effect, I moved a bit more than last year—I broke my own record, it seems!

Next: keep up a smart routine, and I still hope to reach 30 km this summer.

Whatsoever, we shall be back—2026!

The Finale!

We enthusiastically go for another run on the same loop as yesterday. My energy is higher. She seems in good spirits too, la vie est belle.

Before reaching the woods along the Sense, we smile at the sight. The reward at the end of this month that brought us to see foxes, deers, frogs, countless birds, fishes, now a BEAR! “That could be the emoji of the day” she says. Adopted.

Today indeed a fisherman actually materializes the thoughts of yesterday. We step into the water at the very same spot and here he is throwing his fleece with ample arm movements. In the movie I think they look better, but still it’s a lovely scene. We try to not spoil his hunt, we just take seat, in the strong current. That makes a lovely natural jacuzzi.

The fields range from light brown to white at the end of this month. As we close our loop, one last time, one of our neighbor foxes cross the path. Fitting.

I’m far from catching up with the total of last year. And it’s not a problem. We had a lovely time this whole month. Challenging to keep this juneathon alive this year and yet we made it! Despite some lows, celebrating the highs, we can be proud of us I’m telling you! I was not taking for granted that juneathon would be on our agenda again this year, we added new memories to our family book. Each and every one is precious. I wish I could keep them all in memory.

I love my life.
