#29 💦
Water has such a purifying effect! We’re leaving later in the evening, as the heat of the day begins to ease. My Mouky has no energy today—he slept most of this Sunday afternoon. He’s been in pain and low on energy for days. I wish I could be the good fairy and just lift it off him. But I’m not much help.
We walk towards the Sense, swimwear as my first layer. By the end of this day, I need a brisk walk—running until I see a bench and a lovely spot to jump into the water. Mouky hasn’t reached me yet, for a change falling behind. I’m soaking up these magical, Colorado-like surroundings. The sun is starting to set, the water is warm but still refreshing. I’m all alone.
As I walk upstream through the water, I see a duck and her two ducklings, hiding from me. It warms my heart—a smile spreads across my face. Then a fish jumps out of the water, trying to catch some flies. The irritation I felt during the day begins to ease. The water washes it away as I soak up this movie-screen moment.
I want to share all of this with my Beloved. Let’s go fetch him—convince him to take a dip!
On one side the mood is cloudy, on the other the energy drop is serious. Our path leads to a new loop today, heading for the river. I try carefully to draw her into talking, processing her emotions. Quickly though, it becomes clear that this is going to require solo time on her side. She jogs off, on her own. I’m unable to go more than walking, but it’s fine! It’s lovely to watch her slowly taking distance. Her ponytail bouncing, the trail dust stagnating in the goldened air, that appeases me. I trust that it’s going to be fine, we will find the way to this inner peace that make us stable and happy.
Shoes and short on the side of the path, her chosen spot for a dip. Wisely chosen, I can use the bench just here and enjoy the quietness. When you stop moving, your thoughts get deeper, it gets natural to process all this and talk to Him. She’s back with a smile on her face. I melt.
She wants to take me into the river and am far from being keen to do that. It does not take too much time to give in though, and I must admit, it was really nice. Although my system is off, I feel cold at times, the view is wonderful. That makes me think of this movie was it in Montana? Where they do some fly fishing… That could be here! Feels wild and remote and yet it’s just 3km from home!

The last part of our loop is lighter, she’s feeling better. Nature does not disappoint. Water does not disappoint. Precious. Free gift.
