#12 🌾
My appetite returns in the evening; pasta pesto was the wish of my precious one. It cheers me up to enjoy a talk on the balcony after having our tummies filled. Now, we are ready to set out for a loop — anti-clockwise, passing by the forest hut.
It feels good to be outside, to move, to run, taking little steps. We are both silent in our thoughts, yet happy to spend time together in nature.
I opt for the shortcut through the forest. He says: “Are you crazy? It’s steep!” My poor one — not exactly in top shape himself these days.
I was hoping to see a nice sunset by choosing this direction of the loop. But it’s still foggy — the haze from the Canadian wildfires lingers.
Off to the woods! Ouch that hurts, we warm up as oldies would, painfully heading down our path to the village.
Entering the forest brings some very welcome fresher air. The birds are chirping. We are quiet but that’s nice to perceive some improvements. She’s slowly coming back.
As we are about to close the loop, she surprises me in suggesting to make an extension. It’s on that additionnal stretch that we experience some funny moment. Walking along the field of some sort of crops, we hear grumblings and start to see the vegetation moving. She reacts quickly, hides behind me. I’m unsure what to do, a little bit relieved to see the movement heading in the opposite direction. A boar? A fox? We’ll never know. That brought some action at the end of our outing today, and smiles. And oh boy I like it when I’m gifted with some smiles of hers.
Good news, we checked in our local gazette, tomorrow is our fish & chips day! MIAM
