#8 The Scottish Thistles
Rough start, but nice stepping out into a clean washed surrounding. Wonderful mild temperature this morning. As we do the loop anti clockwise, I again notice those large plants sticking out of the field, making the landscape look a bit surreal, reminding me of dryer, desertlike, surroundings. Those are scottish thistles, possible to grow up to three meters. They are part of the scottish flag and coins. The order of the thistle is Scottlands oldest and highest aristocrativ order, as the plant helped them according to legends defending the Wikings. Easy to imagine that they keep any intrudors away. Loving this discovery and will appreciate their beauty even more.
The fields looks bashed, the coquelicots stands but bend. My little gem, is not in best shape either, the knee starts to be an issue. We’ll have to be careful. It’s amazing that we could hop on this project, knowing that last year, some days she could barely walk. So whatever unfolds, we can already be very grateful. Leaving home, the sun warms our back, wishing us a good start into this day.
