#7 Worst luck
Oh, what can I say?! It started off nicely. Walking up hill, upbeat, changing pace, observing the dramatic looking sky. One minute later, the skies open their floodgates and we are getting soaked. It’s warm, so as such really not a problem. My running partner tries his best to keep my mood up. And we both laugh and joke around. We are soaking wet. Well, how ironc I polished our running shoes just yesterday and even better, had my biannual, expensive, hairdresser meeting this morning, intending to look pretty for my Beloved. Did not last longer than half day! Returning looking like a poodle pulled out of the mud. Need some time to digest this!
The day unfolds not as planned, at all. Good organisation is a must for such project, yet flexibility is required too. We head out for our loop at the end of the day, the sky is groaning, the mood is high. Little gem gets hungry so better hurry up. She slightly complains about her knee. I do my best to bring a good mood as the first rain drops threatens. No need to wait a long time, we have barely started our first slow jogging shift that it starts pouring. That makes me laugh out loud, her face gets rather close though. It’s truly raining cats and dogs, I can’t imagine how a bad luck that is. Five minutes ago, it was all dry, now the fields are soaked, the roads covered by baby rivers. The time we reach home, the sky is quiet again. I leave her to head for a second loop, but I could see she’s truly annoyed. What started all in smile, ends with a touch of sourness. Running in the rain, especially like this one when the air stays mild, has always been synonym of happy time for me. The fragrances that the rain spur, of soil, of dust, I truly love that. I’m proud of her, that’s seven days in a row now and I’m confident she’ll appreciate the work done until now and forget soon that stupid leaky sky. On for another week!
