#29 Misty Wild Campers
My Beloved comes back from a big loop, waking me up to do ours next. Again the air is heavy, we jog almost all the way as he has to be back for his shift, and I don’t want him to be late. This morning we notice how the sunflowers have grown quickly and the corn looking like cotton fields. Summer at last.
Back home its me deciding to go for another loop. So off I go to the woods, walking uphill them changing pace. A white car with a greek number plate is crossing me, the guy greets me with a big smile. I’m not feeling at ease and as I reach the woods with the fire place, I see a handfull cars, some of them scruffy looking. People from Greece, Italy and Germany have spent the night up here. It’s still quiet it seems, then I see a guy in camouflage stepping out of the wood, my heart is beating faster as I start to assess. Right behind him, the Hyena and his dog friend. Familiar faces, sigh! I start a chat with the farmer, the dogs are sniffing all over the place but in check. Apparantly since two years this spot is popular for wild camping. Not always to his liking, some people seem to have no respect and littering is a problem. At the end he introduces himself to be Thömu, we part and I am jogging through the woods along the little creek back to the village. Felt so good to go for a longer stretch. Boy, it’s humid, feel I am melting. Longing for a shower now!
Waking up again earlier to go for my own loop, for the first time a bit longer. Aside from cats and snails, it seems like I’m the only one outside, I enjoy the world just for myself.
Once back and the usual coffee prepared, I come to little gem who’s having a hard time to wake up. It’s 6.30 and I try to be more convincing, we have to go if we want to do the loop together. That works, we go for the loop and jog for almost its entirety. I see that it’s on her mind that I need to be home at seven for my work duty. Reached home, she’s now the one leaving for her own time alone in nature and she jogs now 5 km more!
