#26 Golden steps
Loop anti-clockwise this morning. It smells like fresh cut grass as we go, the scottish thistles were cut out already a little earlier, now the entire field is cut. I truly came to appreciate observing all those little changes over the months. Easy to miss out, if you are not out there every day. Learned a lesson about sheep in Holland today. They use them to maintain their dams. They have the right bite to cut the grass and their short steps are called the golden steps to harden the ground, stabilizing it. My conclusion of the day, slow jogging is pretty close to the golden step, grounding me. So far, I did not bite the dust.
Happy to have accepted and committed to the special invitation we received over the weekend. We debrief as we walk our loop anti clockwise. Slow jog kicks in at some point a good half of the loop, we don’t talk so much, slightly numb both of us. But excitement is in the air. I head for a second faster loop before starting my on-call time.
