#22 Deer friend

A full day, returning home happy after spending time with our friends during our Saturday activities, we are heading out for our loop. It’s the day after the longest day in the year, a special time for us. The sky looks like a painter has gone mad drawing clouds, with a splash of pale pink and the sun that is about to set. We walk uphill and my Beloved sees something moving, we wait a bit and indeed a deer running towards the forest, then we hear her making loud sounds. Something else moving and we realize, she is protecting her baby, wanting it to hide in the safe woods. What a magic moment! Feeling so blessed. I change pace, slowly jogging, my Beloved joins me. As we pass the cherry tree, I resolve, today I keep going, and we don’t stop till we reach our den. I believe I can fly, or at least wish we’d go for a second loop tonight.

I started to collapse yesterday night. A feeling I did not experience for quite some time but not uncommon. Feeling numb, empty tank, no energy. I related the other day to little gem how nice it was to see the progress on that front. When reading about my first juneathon, I had 2 times a couple of days of tummy troubles! Nowadays, it barely happens anymore.

That makes it more challenging to get some time for our outing for sure but we manage, at the end of our day. We go for the loop in a crispy air and are blessed after a couple hundred meters by seeing our deers friends, this time with a cub at the outskirts of the woods. We admire for a time, content and grateful. Little gem is then in the mood for jogging, all the way home and she could have continued, I’m the one bailing out. Warmed my heart deeply to see how she loved jogging this loop.
